Open Educational Resources

Requesting Assistance

Are you ready to start looking into Open Educational Resources but want some assistance? Fill out our OER Assistance Request Form! This short form is for your librarians to see what you want to replace and what you are interested in with OER in order to start searching.

Once the form is submitted, you will be contacted by a librarian.

  • Your librarian will ask any clarifying questions and dive in to see what can be discovered. They may request a syllabus and/or titles and ISBNs of current books in use.
  • They will create a shortlist of resources and will contact you to set up a meeting to talk over findings.
  • In this meeting, your librarian will talk you through any questions you have pertaining to the shortlist resources, OER, licensing rules, editing/remixing, and show you how to find OER for future use.
  • An assessment will be sent to you after a year of use evaluating your perceptions on the OER used in class.

If you have any current questions about OER or don't want to fill out the form yet, please contact Miranda Burke at mburke@lindenwood.edu.

What Questions Can I Expect?

Unsure about what questions will be asked of you? Consider the following questions.

Do you have any Learning Objectives or Outcomes that you would like for the OER Materials to cover?

Do you have a Syllabus or a Course Outline? (If you are searching for OERs for a class.)

What are you currently using?

Do you want strictly reading materials or are you open to finding additional multi-media options as well?

Who are the intended recipients of the materials? (Undergrads, Grad Students, Professionals, etc.)

Is there anything you have already found on your own?
